Line: 9 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K; W, QS, CG, SHO
My fantasy perspective: April and May were not kind to Jimenez, going a combined 0-5 with a 5.86 ERA in nine starts. Add in a 45/30 K/BB ratio in 50.2 innings pitched and the start of his season has been down-right forgettable to fantasy owners.
If this start was a preview of things to come, Jimenez owners could be in line for the fantasy numbers he produced in the first half of 2010 (15-1, 2.20 ERA, 1.05 WHIP). The opportunity to acquire him cheaply in a trade probably slammed shut last night, but now may be the time to approach an owner simply looking for a change.
