Line of the Day: July 7th, 2011

Derek Holland pitched a four-hit shutout in a 6-0 victory over the Oakland A's in a game marred by the tragic death of a fan falling from the stands. My condolences go out to his family.

Line: 9 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 7 K; W, QS, CG, SHO

My fantasy perspective: Holland has flashed signs of dominance at times this season but has been too inconsistent, having only recorded a quality start in nine of his 18 starts, yet two of those nine were complete game shutouts. He's widely available in ESPN (8.1% owned) and Yahoo! (23% owned), so you shouldn't need to make a decision on ownership until he proves to be more consistent.
