Line of the Day: July 8th, 2011

Mike Napoli of the Texas Rangers went 3-for-4 with a grand slam in an 8-5 victory over the Oakland A's. It was his third career grand slam.

Line: 4 AB, 2 R, 3 H, 4 RBI; 2 2B, HR (GS)

My fantasy perspective: Napoli should have been a dominant fantasy catcher in 2011 but with only 51 games played so far, some have deemed him a disappointment. His .237 batting average isn't helping your team any but the 12 home runs have him on pace for a run at 25-30.

Just 48.6% owned in ESPN leagues and 68% in Yahoo!, Napoli has value slotted in as a catcher. He's currently ranked as the ninth-best fantasy catcher. He's also eligible at first base and has additional value in deeper leagues utilizing a CI, IF and/or multiple DH or utility roster spots. Take the good with the bad when it comes to a player with the power potential of Napoli and find a place for him on your team unless you're in the shallowest of leagues.
