Line of the Day: June 6th, 2011

OF Brennan Boesch of the Detroit Tigers went 5-for-6 with a double, two home runs and five RBI in the Tigers 13-7 victory over the Texas Rangers. It was his first career multi-homer game and he also set career-highs for hits and RBI in a game.

Line: 6 AB, 3 R, 5 H, 5 RBI; 2B, 2 HR

My fantasy perspective: Boesch's season has been a tale of two months. His April numbers validated ownership (.319/17/1/13/2) even though his power numbers were down while his May numbers (.186/15/3/12/1) probably caused owners to cut ties and look elsewhere.

So far, June has been a very favorable month for Boesch, going 10/21 (.476) with three home runs and seven RBI while helping his overall 5x5 line to a very ownable .278/38/7/32/3. At his current pace, he'd produce a .278/104/19/88/8 season. That's not a bad follow-up season after placing fifth in the 2010 AL ROY race.

If your team is looking for some outfield depth, Boesch is only owned in 37.3% of ESPN and 32% of Yahoo! leagues and deserves a chance on your roster, especially while producing.
